A is for Arucas, a lovely place dubbed the “pearl of Gran Canaria”. Best approached along the picturesque C-813 which joins A (Arucas) with B (Bañaderos), ditch your wheels in the municipal car park adjoining the Gaudiesque church, Iglesia de San Juan Bautista. For Arucas is best explored on foot with its pedestrianized streets offering probably the most relaxed stroll on the whole island.
