A Tale of Marriage, Medicine and Murder

Do you believe that the spirits of our ancestors are still hanging around us?

I believe that there are a lot of people who believe spirits of the dead are still around us and some of the believers are nurses. I have never experienced any strange events like the ones Barb describes to Penny (p.85) in PERSONAL BAGGAGE, but I do not enjoy seeing my reflection in the windows of a lighted room when night has fallen. I pull down our shades when it is dark outside.

A recent front-page newspaper article stated that a group from one of the Paranormal Societies had confirmed that some kind of unexplained activity was taking place in a library in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I find that exciting, but I would not want to encounter a ghost, myself.

We went over to Eye, took the elevator down to Second, and hid in the dark hall ready to jump out, right? But when ..."

"...Lily looked to Uncle Buddy, who nodded permission. “Some people think they see ghosts at the windows.” They believe our house is haunted, but it’s just a real old-th house. We’re old too, you see, so sometimes we don’t remember everything—like when I find plates on the table and I can’t remember if I put them there.” ..."
